President and Chief Executive Officer

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) is an independent 501(c)3 non-profit community foundation committed to growing philanthropy according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. CFGP seeks an energetic leader with strong business experience and vision, dedicated to the mission of the Church, and an initiative-taking and independent professional to further grow and lead the organization. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the President and Chief Executive Officer has a significant opportunity to play a leadership role in taking CFGP to the next level of impact. This individual will serve as the face of the organization externally, thus increasing awareness of the work, brand, and impact of the Foundation. This leader will be a highly effective driver of the expansion and enhancement of the Foundation’s work and impact, building increased and highly engaged support and resources for the organization’s work. 

CFGP is seeking an experienced leader with the vision for and commitment to growth and excellence that the organization needs to build upon a strong foundation. The individual will be an exceptional leader, experienced in working within the non-profit and/or business sectors. This individual will have demonstrated successful management of an organization or division with clear strategic results and possess strong skills and a proven record in fundraising and operations. This executive will also have experience working closely with Board leadership, staff, and external constituents to achieve ambitious goals. 

The leader will also be a highly effective spokesperson externally and represent the Foundation and its mission as the primary spokesperson. The successful candidate will share the extraordinary passion, commitment, and dedication that CFGP’s Board and staff has for the work, impact, and potential of the Foundation. Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator will report directly to the Director, Partner Development to assist in carrying out the Foundation’s development consulting projects. This position requires a broad range of skills in support of key objectives and goals relating to fundraising, development, and marketing.

The Development Coordinator will assist with projects from several different clients including Catholic parishes, schools and organizations. Because of this, multi-tasking and prioritization are important to successfully carry out all tasks. Responsibilities will include organizing all project-related elements, such as drafts of correspondence, presentations, and project results. In addition, various administrative duties are necessary, including performing research, tracking and analyzing information and data, printing and mailing donor communications, preparing progress reports, creating and maintaining project schedules, and filing project documents. Development Coordinators will also serve as a liaison between various departments to ensure a timely exchange of information. The accuracy of such information is vital to this position.

Development Coordinators will be asked to attend meetings and events off-site. Compensation for mileage and tolls will be provided, but Development Coordinators are responsible for their own transportation to and from such meetings and events.

    Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years work experience (equivalent internship experience may be considered)

Relationship Manager

The Relationship Manager is a full-time position that reports to the Director, Partner Development. This position will support organizational partner relationships throughout the 5-county greater Philadelphia area. The Relationship Manager will also act as the main relationship with assigned organizational partners to communicate relevant projects and initiatives. Paramount to this position is the ability to work with a high degree of independence and manage various partners at once, while maintaining a clear view of how each partner interacts with the mission of CFGP.

Responsibilities

  • Steward a portfolio of 150-175 accounts, including parishes, organizations, ministries and/or schools.
  • Build strong organizational partner relationships to maintain old business and acquire new clients.
  • Actively promote CFGP funds, development consulting and planned giving promotion to assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with various CFGP departments to ensure they fulfill all organizational partners’ requests.
  • Act as the main liaison to share messages related to CFGP initiatives, or relevant initiatives of the Church of Philadelphia.
  • Encourage synergies between CFGP and organizational partners for volunteer or other partnership opportunities.
  • Attend internal and external meetings.
  • Provide professional assistance and interaction with assigned account donors (via phone, computer and face-to-face), as needed.
  • Resolve complaints and keep track of all processes that pertain to the organizational partners needs.
  • Collect and analyze data concerning partner behavior to understand changing needs.
  • Maintain current understanding of CFGP and assigned special project initiatives, focus areas, successes, and overall project results to effectively communicate to organizational partners.

    Required Education and Experience

    Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years experience with a preference on demonstrated success in a fund development or sales / marketing role. Experience working within Faith-based organizations preferred but not required.

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • A structural understanding of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is a plus.
    • Develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with different levels of leadership throughout the Archdiocese including pastors, parish leaders, diocesan directors, as well as donors and various lay board and committee members.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on donor and client relations.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a wide range of audiences.
    • Exceptional understanding of philanthropy and resource development as it relates to Catholic, not-for-profit organization.
    • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, problem solve, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative with minimal supervision.
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Superior organizational skills and deadline driven.
    • Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs – experience with a constituent management software is preferred.
    • Maintain current knowledge of trends in the field of fundraising and attend career development workshops and/or seminars as needed/required.
    • Ability to convey a high degree of commitment and passion for mission of CFGP.
    • Performs other duties as needed.
    • Have access to a car and valid driver’s license and attend on-site meetings throughout the 5-county area.
